ABOUT
Although born in Chicago, Illinois, Julie McCoy lived in Munich, Germany, between the ages of six and 18. This early exposure to a different culture resulted in a lifelong passion to travel and eat well.
A graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in English, Julie started her writing career over 25 years ago as a copywriter for a now defunct fashion retailer. She has also worked as an editor/writer for a computer consulting firm and as a publications coordinator for the State University of New York.
An accomplished playwright, Julie has had three of her plays produced on Long Island, two of which she funded and directed.
Julie McCoy is in the process of completing a travel memoir, Pure Form, Pure Food: In Pursuit of Great Architecture and Wonderful Meals , a detailed and witty description of architecture and food-focused road trips she's taken over the last 20 years with her husband and teenage children in tow.
A new project, The Red House, (like the house itself) is currently under renovation.
